The Naughty List - Interview

Just back from NY and face to face with hundreds of e-mails that came in while I was out (not to even mention those I dealt with on the road, including a bunch of translation sales I'll be pleased to report when all the Ts are crossed and Is dotted).  While I sort everything out, I'm pleased to present the latest Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit interview, this time with Suzanne Young, author of The Naughty List.

About The Naughty List:

As if being a purrfect cheerleader isn’t enough responsibility! Tessa Crimson’s the sweet and spunky leader of the SOS (Society of Smitten Kittens), a cheer squad–turned–spy society dedicated to bringing dastardly boyfriends to justice, one cheater at a time. Boyfriend-busting wouldn’t be so bad . . . except that so far, every suspect on the Naughty List has been proven 100% guilty!

When Tessa’s own boyfriend shows up on the List, she turns her sleuthing skills on him. Is Aiden just as naughty as all the rest, or will Tessa’s sneaky ways end in catastrophe?

The Naughty List. Is your boyfriend on it?

Interview with Suzanne Young
Your novel in 140 characters (Twitter-version):
The Naughty List is about a group of cheerleaders who investigate cheating boyfriends.

If you could be any kind of dairy product, what would you be?
Oh, I would so be cheese. Because I’d be delicious.

What about your main character(s) and why?

Tessa would be a Strawberry Smoothie. Technically it may not be “dairy”, but she could make it work. She’s awfully perky.

Do you think in themes?  If so, what’s the theme of your new novel?
I didn’t set out to have a theme. But if I were to say what The Naughty List’s theme is, I’d have to say it’s about honesty and communication in relationships. Well, either that or how to catch cheating boyfriends.

What piece of fiction or non-fiction did you not write but wish you had?
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison is a brilliant piece of work.
