Calling all teens!

I’m calling for the few, the proud, the READERS!  Did you devour TWILIGHT?  Are you looking for some laughter?  Have I got the book for you!

I'm recruiting
right now for my VAMPED street team.  All you have to do is sign up here.  The first nine people (the fabulous Allie has already signed up to be my first victim…er, team player, making for a nice, round ten) get a free T-shirt and signed copy of VAMPED when it’s released in May.  The next twenty-five get a signed bookplate.  There will be extras here and there as time goes on.

What's the catch?
All you have to do for the book is love it and squeeze it and call it VAMPED.  Unsure?  I don’t want to bribe anyone for their votes of confidence (did I mention the possibility of chocolate?), so here’s a link to a sample from VAMPED to see if it'll be up your alley.  If it is, if you love it, I'm hoping you won't be shy about saying so.  Shout it from the rafters, spread the love.  Blog, tell your friends, post reviews on Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com or Shelfari or....

Respond below with your age or school year and the name or location of your school.

What others have said so far:

"VAMPED is a total delight!  Diver delivers a delightful cast of undead characters and a fresh, fast take on the vampire mythos.  Next installment, please!"   — Rachel Caine, New York Times bestselling author of the Morganville Vampires series

"I really sunk my teeth into Lucienne Diver's VAMPED.  A fun, frothy, teenage romp with lots of action, a little shopping, and a cute vampire guy.  Who could ask for more?"  — Marley Gibson, author of GHOST HUNTRESS: The Awakening

“This book rollicked along, full of humor, romance, and action.  Gina is a smart-aleck heroine worth reading about, a sort of teenage Besty Taylor (Undead and Unwed) with a lot of Cher Horowitz (Clueless) thrown in.  Fans of Katie Maxwell will devour "Vamped."  — Rosemary Clement-Moore, author of the Maggie Quinn: Girl vs. Evil series

"Move over Buffy! Lucienne Diver tranfuses some fresh blood into the vampire genre. Fiesty, fashionable and fun--Vamped is a story readers will sink their teeth into and finish thirsty for more." —Mari Mancusi, author of The Blood Coven Vampires series

[If you’re not a teen, but know one who might be interested, please send ’em over!]

for the classroom
Lucienne, how about a copy to circulate in my classroom, especially if you may not be available in April? I can generate quite a bit of enthusiasm, I suspect.

Re: for the classroom
Ah, to add, the age range is 12-13, and most of my female students have completed the entire Twilight series. Almost all my students are computer addicted, blog/post/myspace frequently, and many would be willing to promote for you, I'm sure. The school is Celebration K-8. The kids are intelligent, affluent, and motivated, for the most part. With few exceptions, they are a pleasure to teach.

Do marketing savvy, super connected to teens 20-somethings count?
I'd love to be a part of your Vamped Street team. It sounds right up my alley. While I'm not a teen, I'm pretty well-connected to that world. I'm have strong ties to The University of North Carolina At Chapel Hill as well has local, regional & national publications. Please let me know if you think I'd be a good fit.

Re: Do marketing savvy, super connected to teens 20-somethings count?
Absolutely! I would have hated anyone to tell me I was too old for Buffy or Veronica Mars or any of a number of other shows or books I've adored. Send contact info to the e-mail address listed above and I'll put you on the list.

I'll join the team--and donate the book to the high school library where I teach so it'll reach lots of new readers! The librarian tells me anything with teen vampires in it will circulate lots.

I'm referring twilight2000 and her daughter, who is just the right age. I hope she'll stop by. The cover, by the way, is fantastic!

Thanks so much! I was beyond thrilled when I got it!

scarlettina sent me (no RL names here ;>) - I've a 13 year old that reads all the YA vampire stuff I'll let her read - except Twilight, the thought of which bores her to death (yea, go figure). From Vampire Kisses to Boys that Bite to Vampire High, she's been very happy to curl up with a good book (and that wasn't the case before we stumbled into this genre...). We're not quite ready for what I call the "deep end of the pool" yet (e.g. Morganville - violence & terror really extreme), but as scarlettina sent us over, I bet my kid will LOVE this story ;>.

Awesome! If she's interested, have her e-mail me directly at varkat @ verizon.net (without the spaces) with contact info and the shirt size she'll want. And yup, this is more funny than dark, though it has its moments. If you have any concerns, there's a great review up here: http://myfavoriteauthor.blogspot.com/2009/02/review-vamped-by-lucienne-diver.html

Can I sign my sister Tegan up? She's 16 but doesn't do the online blogging thing (well unless you count her neopets account blog), but she helps me review the teen books for my blog (http://lastexilewords.blogspot.com) and in April she'll be joining as a co-reviewer.

Since Vamped comes out in May, that's perfect! Just e-mail or have her e-mail me at the address I've given above with contact info and shirt size.

Love to help
Hey, I'm 21 and love a good vampire tale. Would love to help promote if I can. I'm a teen at heart! I go to a university in Boston.

Let me know how I can be a part of your street team!

Mom's letting me steal her lj to post this. I read the sample from the link and I REALLY want to read the book! I'm a sophmore in Yuma, Arizona. If I'm not too late to get in for the book offer I'd love to be part of your VAMPED street team!
Feb. 24th, 2009 11:09 pm (UTC)
Not too late. I'd be glad to add you. E-mail me at the address above with contact info and preferred T-shirt size and I'll send it along when the book is available!

I'm up for helping! YA vamp fiction is my favourite! I'll spread the love here in the UK :) Now, just need to read the book!

Ack! Unfortunately, I've hit the upper limit on the free T-shirts and books, but I'd love to have you as part of the team and can send a signed bookplate and any other extras I come up with closer to the book's release date if you want to e-mail me your contact info at varkat @ verizon.net (without the extra spaces).
Feb. 25th, 2009 12:05 am (UTC)
I've been following your blog for awhile and wondering if my 13-year-older daughter would like Vamped. She loved Twilight, and this story sounds lighter (more fun). Still have room?
Feb. 25th, 2009 05:34 pm (UTC)
I'd love to have her as part of the street team, though unless she's one who already e-mailed me separately, I'm out of free T-shirts and books to give away, though I will have bookplates as the release date approaches and potentially other goodies to give away to street team members if she'd like to join up! All she has to do for that is e-mail me contact info and I'll add her to the team.
